About Dr. Dean
My Story
My purpose here is not to be about my story, but to help you shape yours in your best health and well-being. But so you know a little about how I got here...

I was born and raised in rural Alaska and headed to college in Colorado. There I had the opportunity to compete as a NCAA Division I athlete and studied Kinesiology, focused on exercise physiology and biomechanics. A publication in the Journal of Applied Physiology by age 22 helped lead me to Duke School of Medicine and a research fellowship at the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) with my second publication. My training rounded out with an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Florida.

During my residency of 70-80 hour work weeks and months packed with overnight call on a minimum wage salary, I had the blessing of giving birth to my son. I empathize with the busy parent when trying to find time for prioritizing fitness, nutrition and mindful wellness...but I can also vouch that its very possible and I hope to help you find the possibility in your life!

If you are interested in becoming a private patient of mine and would like my CV, please feel free to obtain that here.
